When you sit around the dinner table this Thanksgiving as an African American family encourage your children to serve the public as police officers.
Violent protests are not going to do anything to change the culture. Do you want to solve the problem? Then have your family become part of the solution.
Encourage boys and girls to seriously think about joining the force after college. Encourage them to become patrol officers and detectives.
The more black officers and minority officers on the streets, the more interaction between white and minority officers, the better outcome for any city.
Encourage your kids to seriously think about improving this country through service.
The future of our country demands it!
